American Airlines canceled more than 900 flights last Thursday, April 10, due to the inspection of certain jets.

The flight cancellation is the third consecutive day of cancellations for American Airlines.

The company has apologized to its costumers and has even offered vouchers and compensation for overnight stays.
Hundreds of flights were canceled by the company for the same reason around two weeks ago.

An airline spokesperson said the inspections involved technical compliance as opposed to safety of the flights.

Plane crash kills five tourists

Five French tourists, visiting Peru, were killed Wednesday, April 9, when the plane crashed after it was tangled in power lines according to police and witnesses.

The Aero Ica Cessna plane crashed near a landing strip in Peru's southern desert, leaving only the pilot alive.

Juan Carlos Pavic, head of the civil aeronautics office of the Transportation Ministry, said the pilot's license was valid and the paperwork for the plane was up-to-date.
