Beware, allergy season approaches

As quickly as spring rushes in, allergy season arrives. All the beautiful blossoms and green scenery bring sinus woes for many. Allergies are abnormal reactions of the immune system to substances that are normally harmless. The severity of a reaction varies from person to person. (0) comments

The press conference and meeting, after TSU's spring concert, with 27-year-old R&B crooner, Ray J, and 22-year-old rapper, Yung Berg, granted student media a rare opportunity to better understand the performers. The entertainers used this opportunity to talk openly about their love and sex lives as well as their main point for being on campus, their music careers. (1) comment

Kings Konnection and its executive director, Dwight Pope, plan to crown a new king in their 2nd annual Mr. Tennessee pageant Aug. 23, 2008 in TSU's Poag Auditorium. The pageant was the idea of Pope, TSU's cheerleading coach. Pope sought to create another positive venue for men to gain exposure to the public and better access to the tools necessary for success. TSU student Amatullah Majeed founded her own African dance organization, Sobeya. The junior psychology major from Milwaukee loves the feeling she gets when is performing African dances, and the connection with her African heritage. Now she wants to share her passion with others. (0) comments

By Seth Davis Staff Reporter Famous stand up comedian and host of Showtime at the Apollo, Capone (C), made a stop to TSU's Gentry center as part of Ray J's opening act last Friday. Staff reporters Seth E. Davis (SD) and Patrick Comer (PC) were able to score a candid interview with the comedian about his experience at TSU, his career and his future endeavors. (0) comments

Janet Jackson Discipline-B+ If the frenetic bouncing beat of her lead single, Feedback, is any indication, Janet's newest album, Discipline, is a refreshing return to the singer's club friendly strong suit. The singer returns to the energy she once dominated the music industry with, presenting one of the album's strongest elements-dance numbers. (0) comments

For nine celebrity offspring, the opportunity to become the next bg thing in music is just seven weeks away. On Thursday, Apr. 3, MTV added Rock the Cradle to its collection of American-Idol based reality programming. Like most reality talent shows like American Idol, fans have the opportunity to judge the contestants, and every week the contestant with the fewest votes is sent home. (0) comments

For the first time since its inception in 2001, TSU students paid to host the Annual Multicultural Spring Celebration on Thursday. The International Studies fee will be fully implemented into student fees in October to help fund more events and opportunities offering exposure to international culture and knowledge. (0) comments

In an effort to bring more Christian-themed entertainment to TSU, TSU's delegation of Baptist Christian Ministries, Brothers and Sisters United (BSU), will be bringing four consecutive nights of gospel to campus. The event, which is called Gospel Lights, will take place on TSU's main campus Apr 21-24. (0) comments
